In addition to giving a portion of the offerings to the Church-at-Large as it helps people in the United States and around the world, Mellingers also helps those people in our area who are in need directly and by supporting Ephrata Area Social Services. Several times a year Mellingers cooks and serves a free community meal in Ephrata.

Every year the congregation gives generously to children who need Christmas presents.

Mellingers is a leader in organizing the Ingathering event each Fall during which time materials are raised throughout central Pennsylvania, loaded into a truck and taken to the Service Center in New Windsor, Maryland, and unloaded for distribution.

Friends of Luther Acres provides support to Luther Acres residents by providing birthday parties, Christmas gifts, musical programs and bingo.

As another example of outreach members go Christmas Caroling each year to shut-ins.
