CSFP is a monthly supplemental food program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administered in 26 central Pennsylvania counties by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Each month, a CSFP food package will be available to income-qualified senior citizens aged 60 years and older.

The food package will contain the following: 4 cans of vegetables, 2 cans of fruit, 2 bottles of juice, 1 canned meat, 1 non-meat protein (i.e. peanut butter or dried beans), 1 carbohydrate (i.e. macaroni, rotini, spaghetti or rice), 2 boxes of cereal and 2 boxes of lowfat milk).  Instant milk will also be provided 6 times a year.  In addition you will receive a two-pound block of cheese.  

To participate you must register n person.  If a CSFP food box is not available to you at this time, you will be placed on a waiting list.   To register, please call Swamp Lutheran Church at 336-2849.

To register for the program, you must bring with you:

  • Verification of ID, Age and Address.  This can be accomplished by using a Driver's License, Passport, Picture ID Card, etc.

  • Verification of Household Income: This is the TOTAL income of all members of your household.  This amount can be verified with a w-2, the previous year's tax return, Social Security Award Letter, etc.

If you do not have the above with you, you cannot be registered for the program.

Once you are registered, you will have the opportunity to name a proxy or proxies to pick up your food packages for you when you are not able to do so.

These income guidelines are 130% of the Federal Income Guidelines published annually by the Department of Health and Human Services.
