Lutheran World Relief

Soicial Ministry has already started preparing kits for Lutheran World Relief. They will be collecting 4-5 oz. bars of soap for Lutheran World Relief throughout the year. Please place your donations into the green container in the narthex. Thus far we have collected 550 bars of soap. For May, we are collecting towels, nail clips and combs. We are in need of 15 t-shirts (size 0-24 months/2 T), 2” erasers and blunt scissors. Thus far, we have collected 33 Towels, 41 Combs and 24 Nail Clips. Thank you to those who have sewn backpacks. Currently we have 109 backpacks.

Check Out Our New Sign

When you come up to the church the next time, check out our new sign. You can now see the sign when approaching the church. The garden has been modified to ensure the vegetation will not block the sign. LED lights will illuminate the sign. We are working on acquiring those now. We thank the property committee and gardeners Randy and Vicky Meckley for making this project aesthetically pleasing. It definitely enhances the sight on the hill.

They also need fresh playdough, glue sticks and craft glue. Party items such as decorated plates, cups, napkins, crepe paper and balloon. With back to school and fall and winter coming, they are also very much in need of children’s underwear and socks – all sizes are needed, but the majority of children are pre-school and elementary school age. Since the women at the shelter do not have cars and they have to walk their children everywhere the go, they need umbrellas
