Timothy L. Craven
Reverend

He grew up in western Pennsylvania in McKeesport. In 1974 he graduated with a degree in English (Creative Writing) from Penn State University and a minor in History. From 1974 until 1983 he enjoyed an extensive musical career throughout the United States performing original and traditional American folk, bluegrass and old time music. He still plays music and sings in church and elsewhere. He graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in 1987 and has served as the pastor of Mellingers Evangelical Lutheran Church since that time. During his time in Lancaster County, Pastor Craven has served on the boards of LutherCare, Ephrata Area Social Services , the Lutheran Camping Corporation of Central Pennsylvania and on the Ephrata School Board.

Diane Adair
Director of Christian Education

She grew up in Denver, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Cocalico High School in 1987.  Diane has been teaching Sunday School for 19 years.  She is employed as a  Medical Transcriptionist for Susan J. Probst, MD.

Vickie Kissinger
Director of Music

She is a Lancaster County native and resides in New Holland.  She holds a B.S. in Music Education from Millersville University.  Vickie is a classically trained organist, mezzo soprano, and pianist.  She studied Sacred Organ with Ona Shreiner, Jazz piano with Don Trostle and Classical Piano with Dr. Anita Renfroe.  She was a voice student of the late Dr. Thomas Houser, Master Teacher.  Vickie sings professionally and is an award-winning vocalist and 2012 PA State Senior Idol winner.  She began her organist career at age 13.  She has been Director of Music and Organist for St. John Center Lutheran Church for a total of over 20 years.  Vickie runs a private piano and voice studio with a concentration on special Needs Students.  Vickie is a member of the American Guild of Organists, Music Teachers National Association and the National Association of Singing.  She has one daughter and two grandchildren.

Ashley Weinhold
Secretary

Ashley has always loved being in an office setting her whole life.  When she was young she used to be her mom's secretary at her beauty shop and has 10 years of office experience from her previous job.  Ashley is a wife and mother of 3 children.  Husband (Luke) and her have been together since 2005 and were married during the October Snowstorm in 2011.  She is also an active member Fire Fighter at the Schoeneck Fire Company (since 2004), enjoys taking pictures, enjoys watching TV and Movies, listening to the rain, hanging out with family and friends, and can be a very easy-going person.

The Church Council oversees the life and activities of the congregation  and in particular its worship life ensuring everything is done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

The council normally meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.

The Social Ministry's

Sunday School

The Sunday School Class

continues to meet at 10:15 to 11:00.  



The Adult Sunday School Class continues to meet in the room located between the nursery and the choir room.  All adults age 18 and above are invited and encouraged to attend this class.
